Messages of condolence continue to be received at Football House on the passing of Gambia’s “All Time Best Footballer”, late Alh Momodou Njie (Biri) who passed on Sunday 19th July 2020 in Dakar.
The Academy boys are currently playing their trade in the country’s second tier after spending majority of their football in the top flight league.
They have produced many exciting players for The Gambia national teams such as Omar Jassey alias Waterman, Haruna Jammeh alias Ron, Sulayman Marreh, Emmanuel Gomez, Mamadi Ngoum, Pa Sulayman Badjie, Ebrima Jaiteh alias Bura and Ebrima Jarjue.
Meanwhile, Samger Football club won FF and super cup crowns once in their history under the guidance of former coach Jane Joof, who is now the head coach of Fortune Football Club in The Gambia’s top flight league.
The Academy boys are now coached by former Brikama United and Gamtel gaffer Sulayman Kuyateh.
Major nawettan zones in The Gambia have cancelled their 2020 nawettan football competitions following the extension of state of public emergency and curfew by President Adama Barrow in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
