Red Scorpions demolish Brikama Utd in women’s League Division One

Reigning league champions, Red Scorpions have maintained their winning run in the 2023/2024 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s League Division One after demolishing Brikama United 6-1 in their week-eight match played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Sunday.

Kumba Kuyateh scored a brace for Red Scorpions during the match.

Fatoumatta Jammeh, Kaddijtou Bayo, Penda Colley and Mariama Cham all registered their names on the score sheet to earn Red Scorpions the vital three points.

Sireh Korteh’s lone strike during the match only proved to be a consolation goal for Brikama United.

Red Scorpions lost to Koita 1-0 in their week-six fixture before hammering Brikama United 6-1.

The win earns Jeshwang based-club top-spot on the league table with 18 points after winning six matches and losing one.

Berewuleng drew 1-1 Future Bi at the Live Your Sports in Basori on Friday to maintain second-spot on league table with 17 points.

Sara Jarju opened the scoring for Berewuleng in the 53rd minute of the match before Ousai Sanneh levelled matters for Future Bi in the 77th minute.

The Gambia Police Force defeated City Girls 2-1 at the KG5 Mini Stadium on Friday to occupy third-spot on the league table with 14 points.

Fatou sonko netted a brace for The Gambia Police Forces during the match.

Mariama Dibba’s lone strike during the match only proved to be a consolation goal for City Girls.

TMT FC defeated Immigration 1-0 at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Saturday.

Jarra Jambang scored for TMT FC during the match.

TMT now sit fifth-place on the league table with 11 points.

Koita FC defeated The Gambia Armed Force 1-0 at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field Mini on Saturday.

Koita FC now occupy fourth-place on the league table with 12 points.

Brikama United sit sixth-place on the league table with 8 points.

 City Girls sit ninth-place on the league table with 4 points after winning one match, drawing one and losing five.

Future Bi now sit seventh-place on the table with 8 points.

Immigration sit bottom-place on the league table with only 3 points after winning one match and losing six.
