Real, Wallidan suffer defeats in GFF 1st Division League

Real de Banjul and Wallidan FC have both suffered defeats while Marimoo Pakfood, Samger FC and PSV Wellingara all won in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League week-19 fixtures played across different venues on Wednesday.

Real de Banjul were beaten by Samger FC 2-1 during a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

David Sambou’s first goal gave Real de Banjul the lead in the 36th minute.

Samger FC came from behind to snatch the winner following Bakary Touray’s and Sidiki Jawara’s goals in the 51st and 52nd minutes.

The win moves Samger FC to 6th position with 26 points, four points below Real de Banjul, who now dropped to 4th position with 30 points.

Wallidan were defeated by Marimoo Pakfood 1-0 during a game played at the Banjul King George Mini Stadium.

Wallidan’s defender Foday Seckan’s own-goal was all but enough to earn Marimoo Pakfood the vital maximum points.

The defeat maintains Wallidan at 2nd position with 31 points while h Marimoo Pakfood sit 3rd position.

Elsewhere, PSV Wellingara inflicted a 1-0 win over Team Rhino during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

Yankuba Ceesay’s strike in the 59th minute was the only goal scored during the game to PSV Wellingara the maximum points.

The win maintains PSV Wellingara at rock-bottom-(16th)-position with 14 points, while Team Rhino sit 7th position with 25 points.

Greater Tomorrow beat the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) 1-0 during a game played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

Abdoulie Baldeh scored the game’s only goal for Greater Tomorrow in the 87th minute.

The result puts Greater Tomorrow at 12th position with 21 points, while GAF occupy 8th position with 25 points.
