The city boys defeated Medina United 2-0 in a nail biting final played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.
It was not an easy match for Real de Banjul as Medina United put up an astonishing performance and created numerous goal scoring opportunities but failed to put the ball at the back of the net.
Real de Banjul, who played counter attacking football, opened the scores through winger Abdoulie Baldeh in the 29th minute of the match from the penalty spot.
Medina United reacted for an equaliser and plied pressure on Real de Banjul defence line, creating goal opportunities but squandered them away thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Real de Banjul.
As action resumed in the second half, Medina United continued where they left in the first half and mount pressure on Real de Banjul defence line, crafting numerous goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalise on them.
Substitute Sheikh Jaw scored the second goal for Real de Banjul in the 80th minute of the match from a thunderous shot, which eventually proved to be the winner for the city boys.
Medina United responded back for an equaliser and created several goal scoring opportunities but failed to materialise on them thus the match ended 2-0 in favour of Real de Banjul.
As champions, Real de Banjul went home with medals, a giant trophy and a cash prize of D100, 000 while Medina United received medals and D75, 000 as runners-up.
