Real bounce back, Waa Banjul win in Gambian Premier League

Real de Banjul have bounced back from their three consecutive defeats, while Waa Banjul recorded their fifth win during their week-twenty fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League played on Sunday.

Real de Banjul beat Gamtel FC 3-1 at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

Momodou Bojang opened the scoring for the Whites in the 21st minute of the match, before Sheikh Omar Jamanka restored purity for the Telecom Giants in the 45+1 minute of the first half.

Alasana Camara scored the second goal for Real de Banjul in the 73rd minute of the match before Ousman Kujabi scored the third goal in the 78th minute.  

Real, who suffered three consecutive defeats, now registered their ninth win of the season, while defeat was Gamtel’s four straight defeats.

The defeat was the Telecom giants ninth defeat of the season.

The win moves Real de Banjul to 2nd position on the league table with 33 points, while Gamtel FC occupy 11th position with 23 points, leveling with Waa Banjul.

Waa Banjul recorded their fifth win of the season after defeating Greater Tomorrow 2-1 at the Box Bar Mini-Stadium in Brikama.

The Banjul-based team scored their goals through Bubacarr Fatty and Ousman Touray in the 20th and 33rd minutes of the match, while the West Coast Region based -team scored their only goal through Abdoulie Baldeh in the 62nd minute of the match.

Waa Banjul now collected their fifth victory of the league, while Greater Tomorrow's poor run of form continues in the league after suffering their ninth defeat of the season.

The win moves Waa Banjul to 10th position on league table with 23 points, leveling with Gamtel, while the defeat drops Greater Tomorrow to the relegation zone with 21 points.

Brikama United beat Wallidan 2-1 during a game played at the King George 5 Mini-Stadium in Banjul.

Mustapha Drammeh and Lamin Sambou scored for the Sateyba Boys in the 4th and 64th minute of the match respectively, while Abdoulie Manneh scored the only goal for the Blue Boys in the 45+1 minute.

Brikama United now recorded a back-to-back after the sacking of Coach Modou Lamin Nyassi.

The Sateyba boys now collected their sixth win of the league, while Wallidan FC suffered their sixth defeat of the league.

The win moves Sateyba Boys to 7th position on the league table with 26 points, while the Blue Boys now sit 4th position on the league table with 31 points, leveling with Marimoo Pakfood.

Team Rhino defeated Marimoo Pakfood 2-1 in a game played at the Bakau Mini-Stadium.

Marimoo Pakfood took the lead through Yankuba Jallow in the 5th minute of the match from penalty spot, before Modou Lamin Nyassi leveled the scores for the Team Rihno in the 7th minute.

 Alagie Sallah guided Team Rhino to victory after scoring the winning goal in the 44th minute of the match.

Team Rhino recorded their seventh victory of the season, while Marimoo Pakfood suffered their third loss of the league.

The victory moves Team Rhino to 6th position on the league table with 28 points, three points behind Marimoo Pakfood, who sit 5th position on the league table with 31 points.
