The match’s defining moment came in the first half when Buba Bojang stepped up to coolly convert from the penalty spot, which eventually proved to the winning goal for Pirang.
Pirang United dominated much part of the match and showcase sharp attacking movements, renewing sense of urgency.
Amadou Jallow came close to extend Pirang's lead in the second half but his effort missed the target.
Despite pressure, Fuffor FC remained compact, disciplined at the back and frustrated Pirang’s forward until the final whistle.
Pirang United of head coach, Ismailia Sonko, commended his players for their commitment, organisation and hunger for victory.
“We knew we needed a strong response and the boys delivered. This is a step in the right direction,” Coach Sonko said.
The day’s standout performer, Bubacarr Bojang, was named the Kombo East District Sports Committee Man of the Match.
Bojang received a certificate and D500 for his influential display during the match.
