“Over the past few days, various rumours have circulated suggesting that parts of the golf course might have been taken over or subjected to unauthorised development,’’ Fajara Club said.
Fajara Club categorically deny these claims, adding that the integrity of the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Golf Course boundaries remain intact and under secure stewardship of Fajara Club.
They stated that they have strict protocols to monitor, maintain and protect the course from any illegal or unauthorized activities.
Fajara Club further stated that they carrying out regular inspections, landscaping and maintenance programmes to ensure it meets international golf standards.
They revealed that efforts help them to preserve the rich legacy of Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, for whom the course is named and complement government’s efforts towards The Gambia’s National Determined Contributions.

“In the event of any proposed development, we would ensure thorough consultations and adhere to all legal and environmental requirements,” Fajara Club pointed out.
Fajara Club pointed out that their doors remain open for questions and clarifications, so members of the public can see for themselves that the golf course is fully intact.
