Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) recently held a send-off ceremony for fifty-five (55) young Gambians to benefit from international training opportunities in China, Morocco and Senegal, thanks to on-going partnerships with the Chinese Embassy and other allies.

Minister for Youth and Sports Bakary Y. Badjie, who led the ceremony, applauded the diversity and determination of the group.

Minister Badjie stated that 44 youths are heading to China for seminars in sports, culture, tourism, entrepreneurship and leadership training.

He further stated that 2 were selected for the Islamic World Youth Conference in Morocco, adding that 9 are set to travel to Dakar, Senegal, for the ECOWAS Regional Youth Conference.

“This is more than travel and it’s about growth.

You carry the flag of The Gambia. Go and shine,” Minister Badjie said.

The delegates include government officials, entrepreneurs, university students, youth leaders, persons with disabilities and regional representatives.

DPS Musa Mbye and Director Abass Bah, both encouraged the group to stay focused and return ready to contribute.
