The announcement was made during Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services' monthly press briefing held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center yesterday.
The monthly briefing provides a platform for government ministers to update the public on developments within their respective sectors and respond to questions from journalists.
During question and answer session, Minister Badjie said the decision to restrict wrestling and musical events at the Independence Stadium was taken to prevent damage to the facility.
Minister Badjie said the measure is aimed at protecting the Independence Stadium following its recent rehabilitation and ensuring that it continues to meet international standards for hosting official football matches.
Meanwhile, the restriction means the facility would no longer be used for wrestling competitions and musical events, which have previously been among the activities hosted at the Independence Stadium.
