The tightly-contested final ended goalless at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
Lemon Tree FC and Bundas FC both crafted numerous goal scoring opportunities during the match but failed to capitalize on them.
The Manjai knock out final is now slated 9th November 2024.
Head of coach of Lemon Tree FC, Modou Lamin Ndure, expressed delight with his team’s wonderful performance during the match.
“It was unfortunate that we could not penetrate because of their solid defence line,’’ Coach Ndure said.
Coach Ndure revealed that they were not expecting the final to be replayed next month.
Ndure admitted that they created goal scoring chances but failed to score.
He faulted his players for not scoring their chances during the match.
‘‘We managed to score 10 goals with 10 clean sheets in the Manjai nawettan this year,’’ Coach Ndure disclosed.
Coach Ndure said that his boys were very hungry to lift trophy in the Manjai nawettan.
Head coach of Bundas FC, Yusupha Jammeh, thanked God for giving them a draw against Lemon Tree FC, adding that they had a bad season in the Manjai nawettan last season after collecting one point.
‘‘We were relegated last season, we went back to the drawing board and improved on our weaknesses,’’ Coach Jammeh said.
“It was a well contested final because both teams hailed from the same locality,” Coach Jammeh said.
