Lam Basse to represent Gambia at 2026 Commonwealth Games

Lamin Camara alias Lam Basse of Basse Sandu-Misira is set to represent The Gambia at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

The Gambia National Olympic Committee has officially announced the Gambian team to compete at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with Lamin alias “Lam Basse” named in the Athletics team alongside leading sprinters Gina Basse and Ebrima Camara.

Lamin is expected to make his senior debut on the global stage for The Gambia after impressive performances with his Qatari club, Al-Arabi Sports Club.

He has competed in the Federation Cup, Amir Cup, Aspire Invitational 6, and club competitions so far this year, establishing himself as one of the best in Doha.

Founded in 1930, the Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event held every four years, bringing together athletes from over 70 member nations and territories of the Commonwealth of Nations.
