Kuyateh’s double extend Red scorpion lead in Women’s League

 Kumba Kuyateh’s double extended Red Scorpions lead at the top of the table standing in the 2023 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s Division One League campaign.

 

Mariama Camara netted the third goal to earn the Jeshwang based club a comfortable 3-0 victory over City Girls.

Red Scorpions have now collected 15 points after winning all their five league outings.

 Abuko United, who started the season very poorly have now bounced back after defeating The Gambia Armed Forces 2-1 at the Banjul Mini Stadium to move to 5th position on the league table.

Mariama Camara opened the scores for Abuko United before an own goal by The Gambia Armed Forces defender Binta Ceesay.

The Gambia Armed Forces pulled one back through Fatou Beyai which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

The Gambia Police Force defeated Raptim 2-0 at the Bakau Mini Stadium. Mamie Sey and Catherine Jatta were on target for the Police outfit.

Berewuleng piped Future Bi 1-0, while Koita defeated Jeshwang United on the same day.

Elsewhere, in the Second Tier on Saturday, Mansa Wally thrashed Stone Circle 3-0 while Yakarr FC hammered Jung Mama 7-0.

On Sunday at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field, Lower Nuimi defeated Trust FC 1-0 at 3pm while at 5pm on the same day Immigration FC thrashed Kinteh’s 3-0.

Greater Tomorrow dismantled Kuteh Jombulu 15-0 at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium. On the same day at 5pm, Brikama United got the better of Prison 1-0.
