Kiang Manduar clutch Julafar youth summer tourney trophy

Kiang Manduar recently clinched the 2025 Julafar Youth Association summer tournament trophy.

The Kiang Manduar Boys thrashed last year's champions,  Keneba 3-1 in a final played at the Kiang Julafarr Football Field to clinch their maiden trophy.

Alagie Joof opened the scores for Kiang Manduar in the 25th minute of the match.

 Bakary Jammeh extended Kiang Manduar's lead in the 37th minute of the match thus the first half ended two nil in favour of Kiang Manduar.

Upon resumption of the match, Keneba regrouped themselves and fought hard for an equaliser, crafting goal scoring opportunities.

Keneba pulled back one goal during the second half, which eventually proved to be a consolation the Keneba Boys.

 Substitute Adama Bah alias Ancho scored the third goal for Kiang Manduar during the second half.

As winners, Kiang Manduar went home with a giant trophy, gold medals cash prize of D50, 000 while  Keneba recieved silver medals and D40, 000 as runners-up.

The final was witnessed by multitude of spectators from Kiang Manduar and  its surrounding villages.

The final was attented by  the National Asssemby Member Kiang West, Hon Lamin Ceesay, Landing B. Sanneh, Chairman of Mansakonko Area Council,  Alkalos,  district chiefs and other high profound dignitaries were.

Speaking  to journalists after the match,  head coach of Kiang Manduar, Kebba Njie, expressed delight for winning their maiden trophy after 13 years.

Gaffer Njie  thanked the community of Kiang Manduar for supporting the team during the course of the tournament.

He revealed that they clinched the trophy unbeaten after winning  and drawing  their matches.

Coach Njie further revealed they scored 12 goals during the course of the tournament.

Ansumana Jammeh. a native of the village, thanked the people of Manduar for supporting young people in itheir community to realise their dreams.

Meanwhile, Bakary Jammeh of Kiang Manduar won both the leading goal scorer and player of the tournament awards.

Alagie Joof received the Man of the Match award , while Jerreh Dampha received the best goalkeeper of the tournament award.
