Kanifing United, Empty Land cruise to SWESO nawettan league semis

Kanifing United and Empty Land on Monday cruised to the semifinals of the 2023 Serrekunda West Sports Organisation (SWESO) ‘nawettan’ league competition after winning their quarter-final played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

Kanifing United sailed to the semi-finals of the annual Serrekunda West nawettan league competition after defeating Manga11 2-1 in their quarterfinal match.

Mass Manga’s own-goal opened the scores for Kanifing United in the first minute of the match before Ebou Saho extended their lead in the 31st minute.

Francis Senghore’s 32nd minute strike only proved to be a consolation goal for Manga 11.

The victory moved Kanifing United closer to their dreams of succeeding in the 2023 Serrekunda West nawettan league competition.

The defeat saw Manga 11 out of the Serrekunda West nawettan league competition, leaving their fans and management disappointed.

 Empty Land progressed to the semifinal of the Serrekunda West nawettan league competition following their 4-2 post-match penalty shootouts win over Campbell Town 4-2 after regular time ended 1-1 draw in their quarter-final match.

Momodu S. Touray opened the scores for Empty Land in the 27th minute of the match before Lamin Manneh levelled matters for Campbell Town in the 86th minute.

This pushed the match into post-match penalty shootouts, which ended 4-2 in favour of Empty Land.

Empty Land continued their aspiration of gaining a success in this year’s SWESO nawettan.

 Campbell Town FC were left disappointed and frustrated after the final result.
