Kanifing General Hospital Staff Association inter-departmental tourney underway

Kanifing General Hospital (KGH) Staff Association’s inter- departmental football tournament is currently underway at the Ndow’s Lower Basic School Football Field.

The tournament brought together various departments.

The balloting for the tournament is as follows:

Team A consist of Surgical Ward+ Dental Unit Theatre Unit+ maintenance and compound orderly

Team B consist of Medical Ward Chest Clinic+MOPD+ maternity ward+ drivers+ IDC and Tailors

Team C is made up of Laboratory Unit+X-Ray Unit+Isolation+Admin+ Accounts and Records

Team D and E+Pharmacy +OPD+Paediatric Unit+Security +Physio

Team A drew 1-1 with Team C in the opening match played on Friday.

Ensa Jallow opened the scores for team A in the 48 minute of the match.

Sarjo Danjo levelled the scores for team A in the dying minute of the match.

Kanifing General Hospital inter-departmental football tournament is named after the president of The Gambia Football Federation Lamin Kaba Bojo.

In his welcoming remarks, the president of Kanifing General Hospital Staff Association, Ebrima Gaye, expressed gratitude to the management of the hospital, staff and members of the sports committee.

He stated that the tournament was organised to support the association, adding that tournament was also aimed at promoting physical health.

Dr. Muhammed Touray, representative from the sports department stated that the tournament was organised to foster unity among departments within Kanifing General Hospital.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kanifing General Hospital, Basiru Drammeh, commended Staff Association for the organising the tournament.

Deputizing for the GFF president, Director of Communication and Marketing, Babucarr Camara, expressed delight for witnessing Kanifing General Hospital first-ever inter-departmental football tournament opening match.

Camara revealed that the GFF president promised to collaborate with Kanifing General Hospital Sports Association.

The GFF has donated five (5) footballs as part of his contribution to the success of the tournament.
