Jeshwang Utd, Future Bi continue lead in GFF Women’s 2nd Division League

Jeshwang United and Future Bi FC have continued their lead in The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s Second Division League following their respective wins over the weekend.

Jeshwang United defeated Greater Tomorrow 4-1 in their week-eight fixture played at the Kiti Football Field on Sunday.

The Old Jeshwang-based team have recorded their sixth win of the season, while the West Coast Region-based team suffered their fourth loss of the season.

Jeshwang United overall collected six wins, suffered two losses and are without a draw after eight games, while Greater Tomorrow recorded four wins, suffered four defeats and are also without a draw after eight games.

Jeshwang United maintained their lead at the top of the league with 18 points, leveled with Future Bi, while Greater Tomorrow occupied fifth position with 12 points, leveled with Lower Nuimi.

Elsewhere, Future Bi beat Kinteh’s 3-1 during their week-eight fixture played at the Kiti Football Field on Saturday.

West Coast Region-based team, Future Bi recorded their sixth victory of the season, while Kinteh’s suffered their second defeat of the season.

Future Bi overall registered six wins, suffered two losses and are yet to draw after eight games, while Kinteh’s collected three wins, two draws and suffered two defeats after seven matches.

Future Bi maintained their second position in the league with 18 points, leveled with Jeshwang United, while Kinteh’s dropped to seventh position with 11 points.

Raptim defeated Young Icons 3-1 in a game played at Soma Mini-Stadium on Saturday.

Struggling side Raptim FC now collected their second triumph of the league, while Young Icons suffered their seventh defeat of the season.

Raptim FC overall collected two wins, three draws and suffered three defeats after eight games, while Young Icons recorded one win, suffered seven defeats and no draws after eight matches.

The victory moved Raptim FC to eighth position with 9 points, while Young Icons maintained their second-from-bottom (9th) position with 3 points.

Earlier, on Friday, Prisons beat Koita FC 2-1 in a game played at Kiti Football Field.

Prisons FC now collected their fourth win of the league, while early pacesetters Koita FC suffered their first defeat of the season.

Prisons overall recorded four wins, one draw and suffered three defeats after eight games, while Koita FC collected four wins, one draw and suffered one defeat after six games.

With the victory, Prisons sit 4th position with 12 points, leveled with Koita FC, who occupied 3rd position.

Lower Nuimi defeated Foni Girls 1-0 in a game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium.

North Bank Region-based team, Lower Nuimi now collected their fourth victory of the season, while West Coast Region-based team, Foni Girls suffered their sixth defeats of the league.

Lower Nuimi overall registered four wins, suffered four defeats and no draws after eight games, while struggling side Foni Girls recorded one draw, suffered six defeats and no win after seven matches.

Lower Nuimi moved to sixth position with 12 points, leveled with Greater Tomorrow, while Foni Girls maintained their rock-bottom (10th) position with just a single point.
