"Cricket is more than a sport. Cricket is a game of discipline, teamwork and respect for one another," Dr. Ceesay said.
Dr. Ceesay stated that bringing people together from different nations, cultures and borders would foster unity and friendship among them.
He further stated that the cricket championship would strengthen the relationship that exist among Gambians and other communities.
"Sports connect and inspire young people and promote healthy lives,” he said, while encouraging the players to play with passion and respect for each other.
Chief Marketing Officer of Bell Bottling Company, Borri Darboe, expressed delight for sponsoring the cricket championship.
