The Coastal Town boys and the Banyaka boys made a stunning start to the match and crafted some goal scoring opportunities.
Banyaka opened the scores through captain Malick Bojang in the 44th minute of the match from a brilliant header.
Gunjur responded back quickly for an equalise and crafted several goal chances but failed to capitalise on them thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Banyaka.
Upon resumption of the match, Gunjur piled pressure on Banyaka defence line and created numerous goal scoring chances.
The Coastal Town boys leveled the scores through prolific striker Sheriffo Bojang alias Fixer in the 55th minute to cancel Malick Bojang's 44th minute opener.
Sheriffo Bojang alias Fixer netted the second goal for Gunjur in the 85th minute of the match before Ousman J. Janneh alias Ous Dinding scored the third goal in the dying minute to earn the Coastal Town boys the 2021-2022 Kombo South District football tournament trophy.
As champions, Gunjur went home with a giant trophy, medals and a cash amount of D45, 000, while Banyaka received D35,000 and medals as runners-up.
Gunjur custodian Muhammed Touray received a pair of glove as the best goalkeeper of the tournament, while Kartong skipper Sanna Jassey alias Messi received a trophy as the best player of the championship.
Prolific striker Sheriffo Bojang alias Fixer received football boots as the leading goal scorer of the tournament.
It could be recalled that, National Assembly Member for Kombo South Constituency, Hon. Kebba K. Barrow patronised finalists Banyaka and Gunjur with each D 2,500 to prepare themselves ready for the final.
The Majority leader also gave an additional D5000 to the Kombo South District Committee to support its logistics for the final.
