The Coastal Town boys beat Batokunku 4-2 on post-match penalty shootouts after regular time ended goalless in a tightly-contested final played at the Tujereng Football Field to lift the 2023 Gach Global Mining Company Limited sponsored coastal village football tournament trophy before their crucial round of sixteen match.
Batokunku came for revenge against Gunjur to sail to the quarter-finals of the Kombo South District football tournament but the match ended goalless.
This pushed the match into post-match penalty shootouts, which ended 6-5 in favour of Gunjur.
The win earns Gunjur a place in the quarter-finals of the Kombo South District football tournament.
The defeat saw Batokunku out of the Kombo South District football tournament after losing to Gunjur in their round of sixteen matches.
Batokunku will now hang their boots until next year after their exit from this year’s Kombo South District football tournament.
