Gunjur cruise to Coastal village tourney final

Gunjur and Brufut made an astonishing start to the match.

Gunjur opened the scores through pacy winger Omar Jabang alias Ozil in the 24th minute from an excellent header following Baboucarr Jassey alias Joe Cole’s brilliant cross.

Brufut responded back for an equaliser and crafted some goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on them thus the first half ended 1-nil in favour of Gunjur.

Upon resumption of the match, Brufut regrouped themselves and piled pressure on Gunjur, creating several goal scoring opportunities but failed to materialise on them thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of Gunjur.

Gunjur will now play against Batokunku in the final of the 2023 Gach Global Mining Company sponsored Kombo coastal village football tournament.

Meanwhile, Batokunku defeated Sanyang 3-2 in the other semi-final match played at the Tujereng Football Field on the same day.
