The Green Ghetto Boys defeated Colombia FC 1-0 in a tightly-contested final played at the Banyaka Football Field on Sunday.
Green Ghetto FC dominated much part of the match and crafted several goal scoring opportunities.
Sarjo Badjie could have opened the scores for Green Ghetto FC in the 17th minute of the match but his powerful header went over the cross bar.
Pa Modou Colley came closed to open the scoring for Green Ghetto FC in the19th minute of the second half but his efforts went some inches over the cross bar.
Babucarr Sambou could have opened the scores for Colombia FC in the 67th minute of match but his shot went away.
Sarjo Badjie opened the scores for Green Ghetto FC in the 92nd minute of the match after capitalising on Colombia FC’s defensive howler, which eventually proved to be the winner for Green Ghetto FC.
As champions, Green Ghetto FC went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D20, 000 while Colombia FC received D17, 000 as runners-up.
Salum Camara of Holland FC received the leading goal scorer award, while Colombia FC received the best fan club award.
