GPA record 9th win in GFF 2nd Tier

The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) have recorded their 9th win of the season during the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) week-19 fixture of the Second Division League played last Thursday.

The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) defeated Immigration FC 1-0 during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

Abdoulie Bah scored the game’s only goal for GPA in the 39th minute.

GPA now moved to 4th position with 32 points while Immigration occupy 7th position with 25 points.

Elsewhere, the early pacesetters of the league, BST Galaxy were defeated 1-0 by Jarra West during a game played at the Live Your Dreams Sports Academy in Basori.

Musa Ceesay scored the game’s only goal for Jarra West in the 47th minute.

The defeat dropped BST Galaxy to 6th position with 29 points while Jarra West move to 14th position with 22 points.

Meanwhile, Young Africans thumped Gunjur United 4-0 during a game played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Modou Lamin Manneh opened the scoring for Young Africans from the spot in the 41st minute. Amet Nyang doubled their lead in the 53rd minutes before Lamin Badjie’s brace in the 77th and 83rd minutes respectively sealed a comfortable win for them.

The result put Young Africans on 16th position with 19 points while Gunjur United dropped to 8th position with 25 points.
