GNOC to celebrate Int’l Olympic Day in grand style

The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) is gearing up for a mega celebration of events marking the 74th International Olympic Day on June 23rd, 2022 with support from TAF City.  Base on the three pillars: Move, Learn, and Discover, the National Olympic Committees will be organising sports, educational, and or cultural activities throughout the world.

The Gambia National Olympic Committee plans to launch mass sports events targeting several sports to facilitate access to sport for all across all regions in close collaboration with Regional Governors in a 5-day mega sports jamboree.

The activities will sum up on June 23rd at TAF City in Gunjur, where the ceremony will be held to recognise the efforts of all participants and award merits to winners of various categories.

The event will be graced by the President of GNOC Beatrice Allen, CEO of TAF Mustapha Njie, Governor of West Coast Region Hon Lamin Sanneh, and other important dignitaries.

ACTIVITIES

The Committee will organise a five days sports jamboree in Athletics, Basketball 3x3, Karate, Badminton, Judo, Table Tennis, Cycling, Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball 4x4, and Beach Football.

The event will target young people (Lower Basic, Upper Basic, Secondary Schools, and Tertiary Institutions), as well as National Sports Associations clubs, and professionals in various fields.
