GGA suspends professional golfers association

The Gambia Golf Association (GGA) has suspended The Gambia Professional Golfers Association (GPGA) for failing to acknowledge its request for information regarding the association.

A letter signed by GGA Secretary General Modou Drammeh and addressed to GPGA President Ousman Sillah states: “Further to our letter dated 14 November 2022, requesting for the information detailed hereunder, which you failed or refused to acknowledge, the Committee of the Gambia Golf Association (GGA) has on 9 February 2023 resolved to have the affiliation of the Gambia Professional Golfers Association with the GGA suspended until further notice.”

The suspension letter dated 9th February 2023 and copied to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Executive Director of the National Sports Council, further stated GGA requested for the January – December 2023 work plan, 2020 Activity Report, 2021 Activity Report, list of Executive Members and their contacts, Report of most recent Congress, Report of most recent AGM held since assuming office, at least three copies of the minutes of Executive meetings (latest), list of members, and a copy of adopted and signed Constitution of The Gambia Professional Golfers Association.  

However, GGA said the suspension does not affect any professional golfer`s right to participate in any tournament within the jurisdiction of the GGA.
