GFF women’s league set to begin on March 19th

The 2020-2021 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) women’s league division one season is set to begin on19 March, according to news reaching Pointsports.

The country’s top female flight league campaign was delayed due to lack of football grounds in the country.

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has identified three football grounds to host women’s league division one matches.

The football fields identified to welcome league matches are Jarra-Soma Mini Stadium in the Lower River Region, QCity Sports Complex in Bijilo and Super Star Football Academy Field in Kitty.

As part of the opening fixtures, on Friday 19 March 2021, Red Scorpions will take on Kinteh’s in a derby match at the QCity Sports Complex at 5pm.

On Saturday 20 March 2021, Gambia Armed Forces will welcome City Girls at the same venue at 3pm while on 21March, 2021 Interior will battle with Immigration in the all-security derby clash at 3pm.

Meanwhile, Brikama United will host Abuko United at the QCity Football Complex in Brusubi at 5p.m on the same day.
