The Executive Committee is responsible for implementing the policies and decisions of the General Assembly (the management and the administration of CAF.)
President Bajo is currently attending his first CAF Executive Committee meeting in Arusha, Tanzania where the 44th General Assembly of CAF is ongoing.
From henceforth, he will be attending all CAF Executive Committee meetings.
The GFF president was elected the President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A at the 44th General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Arusha, Tanzania.
WAFU Zone A comprises Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Guinea Conakry Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, The Gambia and Mauritania.
Mr. Bajo, became the first Gambian ever to be elected as WAFU President after replacing Guinean Antonio Souare who has been heading the nine-country Union for the past three years.
Mr. Bajo, 57, was elected unopposed and the decision of his colleagues to throw their weight behind him, shows his growing influence and the trust bestowed in him by his fellow continental football administrators.
Mr. Bajo, a consummate public servant and a career diplomat is at the helm of affairs when The Gambia secured its first ever qualification to an African Cup of Nations finals in the 70-year history of Federation.
It was also under his tenure that The Gambia won two WAFU U-20 Cup of Nations titles and is currently the defending champions.
