The Gambia national U-20 team on Monday 8th August 2022 started training ahead of the 2022 WAFU Zone A U-20 football tournament at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum.

The provisional squad of 30 players will undergo a trial phase of screening from Monday to Thursday during which the list would be trimmed down to the actual number.

The final squad will represent The Gambia in the 2022 WAFU Zone A U-20 football championship to be hosted in Mauritania in September 2022.

It could be recalled that The Gambia defeated host nation Senegal 4-3 on penalties in a tightly-contested final played in Thies to clinch the 2021 WAFU Zone A U-20 football tournament.
