The Organising Committee of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has forfeited Police FC points and awarded it to Red Scorpions FC after their successful protest against the Female Police in the 2024\2025 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) women’s League Division One.

Police FC have been penalised for fielding in two ineligible players in Aminata Gaye and Fatou Sonko in their week eight game.

In its ruling, the GFF Organising Committee states:

After thorough search in the TMS System, the TMS Manager revealed that both Aminata Gaye and Fatou Sonko are still registered with their previous international clubs in the TMS.

Both players are required to obtain an ITC from their previous international clubs to be deemed eligible to play in the GFF Women's National League.

The GFF rules and regulations regarding international transfer (Article 5, Subsection 11, page 7 of the amended 2023 version) states: "International transfer of players shall be governed by FIFA regulations.

FIFA regulations governing international transfer requires an international transfer certificate (ITC) for a player to be eligible to play from one Football Association/Federation to the other.

The player's registration is incomplete to play in the league until his ITC is cleared. Thus, the protest is valid.
