The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has declared the country’s National League null and void after the extension of the State of Public Emergency by Gambian President amid coronavirus pandemic.

“After due consultation with the GFF affiliate clubs and following the extension of the State of Public emergency by the President of the republic, the executive committee of The Gambia Football Federation has taken the decision to declare the National League null and void with no winners, no promotions and relegations,” the GFF states in a statement.

The GFF further said that it will allow the current number one and number two positions of the First Division League to represent The Gambia in CAF Club Championship and CAF Confederation’s Cup respectively.

The GFF said it will provide financial support to clubs from the covid-19 relief funds, adding that urgent and necessary steps will be taken to improve the condition of football fields.

The GFF expressed gratitude to management of all clubs for their cooperation and understanding during these difficult times in our football.
