‘Gambia’s game against South Sudan is most important’

Abdoulie Bojang, head coach of The Gambia U-20 team has stated that the Young Scorpions game against South Sudan today, Friday in the quarterfinals of the Africa U-20 Youth Championship is the most important match for them.

Coach Lie Bojang was speaking with the press ahead of the Young Scorpions quarterfinals game against the Young Bright Stars of South Sudan today, Friday at 2pm.

“Playing South Sudan is the most important game for us. All that we want is history now. We are prepared for the most important 90 minutes because a win will give us our first objective to qualify for the World Cup,” said the Gambian tactician.

According to him, the GFF has invested a lot in grassroots football, pointing out that has reflected on the performance of junior teams over the years.

“We will respect Sudan but also capitalize on our chances to qualify to the semifinals next week and make Gambians proud,” he also said.

Meanwhile, a victory today will see The Gambia secure back-to-back appearances in the U-20 World Cup.
