Gambia U-20 to host Burkina Faso in first leg women’s world cup qualifiers today

The Gambia national women’s U-20 team will today, Friday 24th September 2021 host West African counterparts Burkina Faso U-20 in the first-leg of the FIFA women’s world cup qualifier at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Gambia U-20 on Tuesday went to camp at the National Technical Training Center at Yundum ahead of their crunch women’s world cup tie against Burkina Faso.

According to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) the game will be played behind closed doors.

The Gambia women’s U-20 will play Burkina Faso in two-legged encounter.

The women’s U-20 will host Burkina Faso in Banjul on 24th of September, 2021 with the second leg billed for 8 October, 2021, in Ouagadougou.

Speaking to Pointsports, assistant head coach, Chorro Mbenga said the preparation is at high gear, adding that they have been training for almost two months.

 “Honestly the team was a raw team but during the past two months, we have definitely been working hard. We have confident that they will deliver as expected,” she said.
