The Young Scorpions lost to Gambian Dutch Lions 1-0 in their second friendly match played on 16 August 2024 before locking horns with the country’s divisional selection team.
The country’s divisional selection team were the first to put the ball at the back of the net in the early minute of the first half.
The Gambia U-20 team reacted quickly for an equaliser and levelled matters through Alagie Wally before the break thus the first half ended 1-1.
Upon resumption of the match, The Gambia U-20 team injected in several fresh legs and dominated the country’s divisional team in the midfield, creating goal scoring opportunities.
Substitute Ebrima Ceesay scored the second goal for The Gambia U-20 team in the Second half, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Young Scorpions.
The country’s divisional selection team fought hard for an equaliser but were unable to unlock The Gambia U-20 team’s solid defence line thus the match ended 2-1 in favour of The Gambia U-20 team.
