The Young Scorpions hammered Team Rhino 4-0 in their first warm up match played on Wednesday 14th September 2024 before rub shouldering with Gambian Dutch Lions in their second friendly match.

Gambian Dutch Lions defeated The Gambia Ports Authority 2-1 in their promotion play-off final played at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum last month to gain promotion to the First Division League.

Malang Fofana’s first half strike from the penalty spot earned Gambian Dutch Lions a slender win over the Young Scorpions.

The Gambia U-20 team reacted for an equaliser but to no avail thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of Gambian Dutch Lions.

Coach Abdoulie Bojang and his Young Scorpions charges will play against Mauritania in their opening match of the 2024 WAFU Zone A U-20 football tournament.
