Gambia U-17 team leave Banjul today for Dakar ahead of MRI test

The Gambia U-17 team will today, Monday, 7th October 2024 leave Banjul for Dakar, Senegal, ahead of the mandatory MRI test.

Coach Yaya Manneh will travel to Senegal with thirty-five (35) players for the mandatory MRI test before the commencement of the 2024 WAFU Zone A U-17 football tournament.

The Baby Scorpions held series of training sessions at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum to prepare themselves fit enough for the sub-regional junior biggest football showpiece.

The Gambia U-17 team have never won the WAFU Zone A 17 football tournament trophy since the inception of the sub-regional cadet biggest football fiesta some years ago.

The Baby Scorpions won the Africa 17 Cup of Nations trophy twice in 2005 and 209 respectively.

Meanwhile, the winner and runners-up for the 2024 WAFU Zone A 17 football tournament will represent West Africa in the 2025 Total Energies Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
