Gambia to clash with Chad in AFCON qualifiers on March 23rd

The Gambia senior national team will rub shoulders with Chad in the first-leg tie of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary qualifiers on 23rd March 2022 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The Scorpions reached the quarterfinals of the continent’s bi-annual biggest football showpiece in their debut appearance but slipped to host nation Cameroon 2-0.

Coach Tom Saintfiet and his charges are currently preparing themselves fit enough for their crunch preliminary qualifiers with Chad who failed to qualify for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Scorpions will strive to whip Chad in their first-leg encounter to fancy their chances of reaching the group phase of the 2023 Africa Cup Nations qualifiers.

The Gambia will host Chad in the second-leg of the preliminary qualifiers on 29th Match 2022 in Agadir, Morocco.           

Meanwhile, the Scorpions secured qualification to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations in 2021 after finishing top-spot in Group D of the qualifiers with 10 points in six group matches.
