The Gambia will today, Monday, 9th June 2025 lock horns with Uganda in their second international match at the Grand stade in Marrakech, Morocco, following their 2-1 victory over Equatorial Guinea in their first international friendly encounter played at the same venue on Friday.

Adama Sidibeh scored a brace for The Gambia during the first half of the match.

Captain Emiliano Nzue pulled back one goal for Equatorial Guinea on the cusp of halftime, which eventually proved to be a consolation for Equatorial Guinea.

Coach Jonathan Mckinstry and his Scorpions charges will strive to beat Uganda in their second international friendly match.

The Gambia failed to snatch qualification to the 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations after finishing second-place from bottom in Group A of the qualifiers with 8 points in six group matches.
