Gambia drawn against Niger in Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

The Gambia Senior Women's National team (Queen Scorpions) have been drawn against Niger in the first round of the 2026 Total Energies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The draw for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was held on Thursday 12th December 2024 at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The Queen Scorpions will travel to Niamey for the first leg, while the second- leg will be played in Banjul.

The qualifier matches are set to be played between 17th to 26th February 2025.

The winner between The Gambia and Niger clash will play against Kenya or Tunisia in the second round of qualifiers in October 2025 for a place in the 2026 CAF Total Energies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco.

 Coach Yaya Manneh and his charges need to train twice a week to prepare themselves fit enough ahead of the qualifier matches.
