GAF: Gambia’s most persuasive club

Jun 8, 2020, 12:37 PM | Article By: Lamin Darboe

Gambia Armed Forces Football Club is The Gambia’s most persuasive club after clinching three league titles in 2003, 2009 and 2017.

The soldier boys won the FF cup once in their history in 2018 and super cup three times in 2004, 2009 and 2018. They represented The Gambia in the CAF champion’s league in 2010 and confederations cup in 2018 but were eliminated in the preliminaries of the continent’s elite and second tiers club competitions.

They were occupying second-spot in the country’s premier league standings with 23 points before Gambia Football Federation (GFF) declared the 2019-2020 league season null and void following the extension of state of public emergency by President Adama Barrow in a bid to curb covid-19 pandemic in the country. They have produced some of the best players for The Gambia national teams.
