Mr. Jammeh was supposed to fly back to The Gambia on Sunday after a successful procedure and an excellent recovery.
Unfortunately, he got admitted at the ICU in India on Saturday and was sadly pronounced death on Sunday.
A former journalist with the defunct Daily Observer, Salaam spent majority of his professional career as a football administrator and served as the CAF Education Officer, Administrative Secretary and the DGS for the defunct GFA.
He returned to Football House as the DGS in 2014 and in 2018, he decided to take a voluntary retirement from professional life.
