Falcon win in Gambian Premier League

Falcons have won their week-11 fixture of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League game played on Friday.

Falcons defeated Hawks FC 1-0 during a match played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

Ebrima Ndure scored the only goal of the match in the second half to help Falcons collect the maximum points against the defending champions.

The victory tentatively move Falcons to the top of the league standing with 22 points after playing a game more, while Hawks occupy 13th position with 9 points.

Steve Biko were held to a 2-2 draw against Fortune during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

The Petroleum Boys took the lead through Patrick Sylva and Lasana Jaiteh in the 8th and 19th minutes respectively.

However, the Giant Killers came from behind to restore parity with goals from Abdoulie Manneh and Ousman Manneh.

The result put Steve Biko on 5th position with 18 points, while Fortune sit 9th position with 14 points.

Waa Banjul beat Team Rhino 1-0 at home during a match played at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul.

 Ebou Jatta scored the game’s only goal in the 29th minute to help the struggling side collect the very important maximum points.

The win put Waa Banjul on second from bottom (15th) position with 8 points, while Team Rhino occupy 11th position with 12 points.

Brikama United and PSV Wellingara played an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

Sainey Marong scored for PSV Wellingara while Sainey Bojang struck for Brikama United to ensure they share the spoils.

Brikama United now occupy 10th position with 12 points, while PSV Wellingara sit 14th position with 9 points.
