DG Gassama expressed DLEAG’s readiness to support Mbenga’s sports projects.
He hailed Mbenga's recent achievement from Ghana on his course program on Sports Governance and Leadership course at the National Sports College in Winneba.
Mr. Gassama was keen to support Mr. Mbenga's pilot project on sports related to illicit drugs on the livelihood of athletes.
He stated that drugs have damage the career of many young athletes, adding that the high risk factors is alarming.
He further stated that the Drug Law Enforcement Agency is available to participate and partner with sporting organisations in order to sensitize athletes and other sporting bodies the harmful effects of illicit drugs in their career.
Mamour M. Mbenga alias Journalist Kifa Barham, pointed out that his visit to DLEAG headquarters was timely, while requesting the Agency's support to implement development programmes in the field of sports.
Mbenga and Gassama discussed various areas of intervention and approach in abating drugs in the sports industry.
Mr. Mbenga is currently on site visit to various sport facilities and also meeting stakeholders to discuss challenges and solutions to bring development to the game of sports.
