The Coast Town boys came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with FABY in their opening Group A match played at the Farato Football Field on Sunday.
FABY made a flying start to the match and dominated Gunjur in the midfield, creating goal scoring opportunities.
Combative midfielder Bully Dahaba gave FABY the lead in the 10th minute of the match from an excellent strike.
Gunjur responded back quickly for an equaliser and launched several goal scoring attempts.
Budding Omar Jabang alias Ozil nearly leveled matters for Gunjur in the 15th and 20th minute of the match respectively but his shots were denied by the stand bar.
Gunjur leveled the scores through budding Omar Jabang alias Ozil in the 25th minute of the match from the penalty spot after defender Ismaila Janneh alias Maicon was brought down inside the eighteen yard-box thus the first half ended 1-1.
Upon resumption of the match, FABY and Gunjur injected several fresh legs to increase their chances of snatching the vital three points but the match ended 1-1.
FABY and Gunjur now secured 1 point each after one group outing.
Meanwhile, Foni thumped Sukuta 2-0 at the Buwiam Football Field to clasp the significant three points.
