Brikama Utd maintain lead in Women’s 2nd Division League

Brikama United Female team on Friday maintained their lead at the top of 2023 The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s League Division Two after hammered Yakar FC 4-1 during their week-six fixture played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field.

Nyima Mendy scored a brace in the 1st and 9th minutes for Brikama United before Isatou Jallow and Sireh Koteh scored their third and fourth goals in the 3rd and 55th minutes. 

Yakarr FC pulled back one in the 2nd minute of the match, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

Brikama United have now collected 16 points after winning five matches and drawing one.

Prison humiliated Stone Circle 6-0 at the Soma Mini Stadium on Friday.

Isatou Saidykhan netted a hat-trick for Prison in the 33th, 50th and 84th minutes respectively.

Van Badjie, Fatou Jarju and Hawa Drammeh scored the fourth, fifth and sixth goals in the 10th, 32nd and54th minutes of the match respectively.

Prison currently occupy second-place with 15 points.

Greater Tomorrow defeated Lower Nuimi 2-1.

Wuday Colley and Elizabeth Ndicky were on target for Greater Tomorrow in the 67th and 71st minutes.

Jaher Joof scored for Lower Numi in stoppage time, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

Greater Tomorrow sit third position with 14 points after winning four and drawing two of their matches.

On the Sunday Immigration battered Kuteh Jombulo 10-0 match at Soma Mini Stadium.

Dominga Sylva and Fatoumatta S. Jallow both netted hat-tricks for Immigration during the match.

Isatou Fatty, Beti Mbenga, Mariama D. Beyai and Isatou Tamba each scored one goal during the match.

 Trust FC defeated Mansawally 1-0 at the Late Ousman Saho Mini Stadium with Sally Jatta scoring the game’s only goal for Trust FC in the 67th minute.

Trust FC sit fifth position with 9 points while Yakarr occupy sixth position with 8 points.

Kinteh’s sit seventh position with 8 points while Lower Nuimi occupy eighth position with 6 points.

 Mansawally sit ninth position with 6 points while Stone Circle occupy tenth position with 4 points.

Kuteh Jombulu sit eleventh position with 1 point while Jung Mama remain rock-bottom on the league table without a point.
