The Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) has completed its knockout qualifiers with three of the best teams from their qualifiers securing places into the nawetan proper. Only one team from last year’s four relegated sides returned to the nawetan proper.

Sabou United, Manokang FC, Dreamers FC and Diamond Boys are the four teams that qualified to the nawetan proper following their respective wins in their playoff matches.

Diamond Boys are the only relegated side to return to the nawetan proper, while Sabou United, Manokang FC and Dreamers FC are the best three qualify round teams to book their places into the nawetan proper.

Diamond Boys returned to the Brikama nawetan proper tournament after beating Sinchu Jola Kunda FC 5-4 on post-match penalties in their playoff match after an entertaining 1-1 draw in the normal time.

Ebrima Jammeh put Diamond Boys in the driving seat when he fired a beautiful curling ball into the net in the 76th minute.

However, the Diamond Boys' lead did not last long as Tumbul Sanneh scored an equaliser 4 minutes later for Sinchu Jola Kunda to send the tie to post-match penalty shootouts where Diamond Boys triumphed 5-4.

Dreamers FC of Brikama Jalanbang defied all odds to gain promotion into the Brikama nawetan proper after defeating heavyweights Missira United 4-2 on post-match penalty shootouts following a dramatic 1-1 draw in the regulation time.

Omar Gaye gave Missira United the lead with a poerful header in the 68th minute before Babura Bojang equalized for Dreamers FC in the 87th minute to force the match into post-match penalties.

Manokang FC of Madina thumped Chimo FC 2-0 in the Brikama nawetan playoffs to qualify for the nawetan proper.

Sarja Jatta opened the scoring for Manokang FC in the 58th minute while Nuha Ceesay doubled their lead in the 74th minute. The diminutive tricky forward danced and maneuvered past a crowded Chimo defence and scuffled a shot into the net.

Earlier, Sabou United qualified into the Brikama nawetan proper after thrashing Gidda FC formerly Fabou 3-1 in the first playoff game.

Lamin Trawally broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when his fierce shot beat the Gidda FC goalkeeper at the near post.

Gibril Sima chipped the ball over the hapless Gidda FC netminder just two minutes before the half-time break. Buba Ceesay alias Kanka gave Gidda FC some hope when he reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 50th minute.

However, skillful Lamin Trawally artistically danced past Bekai Mballow of Gidda FC and squared the ball for Gibril Sima to score his brace for Sabou United and earn them a place in the nawetan proper.
