Bakau Sports Committee launches committees prior to Awards Night, Gala Dinner

Bakau Sports Committee (BSC) on Friday 9th January 2026 launched committees ahead of the 2025 Awards Night and Gala Dinner.

Awards Night and Gala Dinner is slated for Friday 13th February 2026 at Ocean Bay Hotel, Cape Point, Bakau.

The 2025 edition is the 2nd edition of Bakau Sports Commitee Awards Night and Gala Dinner.

The committees were established for the successful coordination of the annual Bakau Sports Committee awards night and gala dinner.

The committees are: awards committee,sales and marketing committee and media and publicity committee.

Chairman of Awards Night and Gala Dinner, Ebrima Darboe, revealed that they would build on the success of last year, adding the annual awards night has created a big impact.

Darboe further revealed that the awards night and gala dinner propelled Bakau Sports Committee and Bakau sports to higher heights after last year's award ceremony.

"We have seen some developments at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

This is a justification of having such an event.

“We want to brand it in a way that it can stand on its own," Darboe said.

President of Bakau Sports Committee, Ousman Cho Drammeh, who also doubles as chairman of sales and marketing committee, gave an overview of the event.

Drammeh disclosed that Diamond tables for 10 people are sold at D75,000, adding that Diamond tables target central and local governments.

He further pointed out that Diamond tables also target institutions, agencies, parastatals, third sector organisations, political parties, IGOs and NGOs, superior sport governing bodies, regional and national sports associations.

He revealed that gold tables are for 10 people are sold at D50,000, while silver tables which are for five people are sold at D25,000

Drammed added that individual tickets are sold at D5,000 per person.

"This ceremony is organised to recognise key personalities, both present and past who have contributed immensely to sports development in Bakau.

This ceremony focuses on unity in the amalgamation of key stakeholders under one umbrella for revenue generation.

Drammeh solicit support from the government, through Ministry of Youth and Sports,  Kanifing Municipal Council and partners to improve their resource mobilization scheme.
