AIPS, SJAG set to train 20 sports journalists

International Association Press Sportive (AIPS) and The Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) will train 20 sports journalists in the country, according to news reaching The Point Sports Desk. 

The training will be conducted virtually from February 6th to 9th February 2025.

The training will cover writing sports features, engage online sports media content and ethical standards in sports journalism in The Gambia. 

Martin Mazur, an award-winning Argentinian sports journalist with over 25 years of experience will lead the training.

Mazur is a writer for the prestigious sports agencies Four Four Two and La Gazetta.

The President of the Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG), Omar Jarju, stated that the training would develop skill and knowledge of sports journalists in The Gambia.

Jarju further stated that the training would also provide sports journalists with valuable skill and knowledge to excel in the world of sports journalism.

 The Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) hopes to elevate the standard of sports reporting and also create a network of skill and ethical sports journalists in The Gambia.

SJAG thanked the President of AIPS Gianni Merlo for rendering support to them.
