2nd Tier: Gunjur Utd stun Wallidan in mouth-watering clash

Gunjur United on Wednesday dazed Wallidan 3-1 in their week-21 mouth-watering fixture of the 2025\2026 APS Wallet sponsored Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Two League played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

The Coastal Boys slipped to the Blue Boys 3-1 in the first round of the country's Second Tier played at the Gunjur Nyamina Mini Stadium.

Gunjur United sat bottom-place on the Second Division League table with 16 points before clashing with Wallidan, who sat fifth-place on the country's Second Tier table with 30 points.

The Coastal Boys came for revenge against Wallidan to move away from the danger zone on the Second Division League table.

Gunjur United made an execellent start to the match and contained Wallidan in the midfield, creating goal scoring opportunities.

Midfielder Salifu Bojang opened the scores for Gunjur United in the 18th minute of the match from the penalty spot.

Wallidan reacted quickly for an equaliser but were unable to unlock Gunjur United's solid defence line.

Striker Musa Bojang extended Gunjur United's lead in the 23rd minute of the match.

Wallidan responded back for an equaliser but to no avail.

Wallidan reacted for an equaliser but were unable to score thus the first half ended 3-0 in favour of Gunjur United.

Upon resumption of the match, Wallidan organised themselves and contained Gunjur United in the midfield and crafted goal scoring opportunities.

Wallidan pulled back goal after the interval, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them thus the match ended 3-1 in favour of Gunjur United.

Gunjur United still sit bottom-place on the country's Second Tier table with 19 points despite beating Wallidan.

Wallidan occupy fifth-place on the Second Division League table with 30 points after twenty-one league matches.
