2nd Division: Gunjur Utd close gap on Hawks, Gambian Dutch Lions

Gunjur United have closed gap on Hawks and Gambian Dutch Lions in the 2023-2024 Gambia Football Federation GFF Division Two League after their 2-1 victory over Serrkunda FC during their week-30 tie played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Wednesday.

The Coastal Town boys drew 2-2 with Serrekunda FC in the first round of the country’s Second Tier campaign at the Bakau Mini Stadium before their crucial clash.

Gunjur United grabbed the significant three points, thanks to goals from winger Abdoulie Jassey alias Dybala and midfielder Omar Jabang alias Ozil during the match.

Serrekunda FC scored one goal in the match, which eventually proved to be a consolation for the Serrekunda based-club.

The win earns Gunjur United fourth-place on the Second Division League table with 47 points in 30 league outings.

Serrekunda FC now occupy twelfth-place on the country’s Second Tier table with 35 points after 30 league matches.
