Sulayman Bah, told the commission that he started his career as a revenue collector at the Mansakonko Area Council in 1994 and was later transferred to the Basse Area Council in 2003.
He is currently a senior revenue collector (supervisor of collectors) at the Basse Area Council.
At the start of testimony, his written statement dated 17th of May 2023, was marked as an exhibit and admitted into records.
Continuing his evidence, Bah told commissioners that the revenue collectors are supposed to make daily deposits of revenue collected to council’s bank account.
When asked whether he has knowledge regarding Finance Director collecting money from revenue collectors, the witness said it had been happening.
“He has been doing that. It does not tell well.” Bah said.
The witness also recalled that one Muhammed Suso, a revenue collector, had also once said that he gave money to Director Lamin Suso.
