Varadero, the second-best beach in the world, will host the International Tourism Fair FitCuba 2022

Havana, March 23.- The resort of Varadero, cataloged this year by TripAdvisor as the second-best beach in the world, is preparing to host from May 3rd to 7th the 40th edition of the International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2022, which on this occasion will be dedicated to tourism from Sun and beach.

The Plaza América Convention Center will be the headquarters of the main tourist exchange in the country, for which it has undergone a major renovation that included the expansion of three rooms, the plenary hall and room G with an innovative video projection system, audio and language translation. The Wi-Fi network was also extended to other areas of the premises and other places were remodeled to provide better customer service.

The 40th edition of the International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2022, includes three simultaneous forums on business, technology and events and incentives, in addition to an exhibitor fair with companies that provide services and suppliers to tourism.

It will be an opportunity to learn about the business portfolio for foreign investment in this area, which includes 106 projects, 27 of them in the form of joint ventures, 22 new hotel developments, 4 theme parks and a real estate project in the tourist area Playa Inglés.

Despite the tourist depression caused by Covid-19, it is expected that a significant number of tour operators, travel agencies, hotel companies, carriers, specialized media, airlines and other related companies will participate in this 40th edition of FitCuba 2022. tourism from various countries.

More than 7,500 professionals from 53 countries participated in the last edition of the International Tourism Fair in 2019.

Varadero beach is the main tourist destination in Cuba, it is located 140 kilometers from Havana, it has 22 kilometers of beach with fine white sand and turquoise water, with 50 all-inclusive hotels and some 22,000 rooms. with an international airport that receives flights from Europe and the Americas.

Since the tourist reactivation in November 2021, Cuba has applied sanitary protocols in all its hotel facilities with a view to providing hygienic and safe tourism, together with the fact that 89.4 percent of the population already has the complete vaccination scheme against the Covid-19.
